10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand?
[k] Odd as it may sound being a NYC fashion designer -- and being that BLACK is actually this years BLACK -- I don't really like to wear too much black! And knitting it is hard on my eyes! I love earth tones! I also love green, pink, orange and blue! :-)

14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
[k] Red Heart or it's equiv. in scratching itchy Acrylic. There are soft acrylics out there though. I have been trying to work with more natural fibers because they breath better for the wearer. That said - I knit a lot of baby suff in acrylic blends so that it's easy to care for.

15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?
[k] Perfecting Intarsia and lace.

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?

e. A vest for a chrstmas gift

Both A & B are with me as I travel.

I prefer Ruanas and have always liked shrugs...I have only one official poncho that I like (and designed)...it's a super fine cowlnecked knit that is thin and drapey and yummy.

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?
I like Circ's for train/subway/plane knitting especially.
But I love beautiful wooden straights!

20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
[k] Wood/bamboo are my fave...but they all work! I've been thinking of picking up the Denise set.

[k] Yep!

22. How did you learn to knit?
[k] Good old Mom taught me when I was 4. I prefferred crochet for a long long time though.

23. How old is your oldest UFO?
[k] Must be atleast 5 years old. I began a beautiful sweater in intarsia and had to put it down when I became ill. Two years later when I was better, I had gained so much weight that I had gone from an XS to a size M... so it sits there on it needles still. Eventually I'll admit that I'll be this size for likely ever, never to return to even a size small -- and I'll frog it. (Amazing Italian wool too!) but until then my stubbornness wins out over logic.

24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?
Hong Kong Fooey, Mighty Mouse

25. What is your favorite holiday?
Hmmm -- Halloween - because I'm a big ham and LOVE to dress up!!!
Thanksgiving or Christmas. I get to see family then and time with them is worth a million bucks. I took over Thanksgiving about 8 years ago so my house either has an intimate few or a rowdy bunch depending on who's left in NYC!
Christmas gives me a chance t
o spoil my folks without my Mom getting upset with me. :-)

29. Any patterns you have been coveting, but haven't bought for one reason or another??
Not that comes to my jet-lagged mind, but I'm always in the market for vintage patterns from the 30's, 40s and 50s.
